I have often felt, and perhaps still do, that a blog (or any type of personal website) is a bit narcissistic. I mean, the idea here is that Natalie and I, or any other blog/personal website for that matter, think that what we are doing and thinking is so unbelievingly important that other people will, willing, take time out of their busy schedules to read about our lives. There is a certain amount of arrogance in that way of thinking that I am not exactly comfortable with. (To be honest it sort of gives me the heebie geebies.) At the same time, with leaving our families and friends, Natalie and I have decided that we want to be as involved as possible with people who do not currently live a 10 minute drive away. I have also learned that I enjoy reading the blogs and leaving comments (you should leave us some comments) on the blogs of friends who I do not get to see very often. I find that I can be more involved with their lives if I know what is going on. Now some of you are probably thinking, and rightly so, that a phone call would go a long way towards keeping those connections going. Your right. This is not meant as a substitute for interactive communication but merely as another aspect of it. By all means call us. If you have one of our numbers. And no, I am not going to post it here. Do you think I want prank calls from every bored 14 year old who is cruising the internet intent on mischief? Seriously.
